New York got a strong outing from Matt Stro as the Voyagers defeated the San Antonio Sloths, 3-2, at The Treehouse. Stro went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 14-8. Earning his 8th save of the year was Katsuki Bakugo.
New York used the clutch hitting of Bighurt Thomas to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Voyagers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Stro.
The Voyagers now have a record of 61-41 with the win over San Antonio.
