Death Valley Gets 10-6 Win
The Death Valley Scorpions beat the Seattle Sea Serpents, 10-6, at The Aquadome. The win was due in part to first baseman Ted Giannoulas, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Guy Roussy earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record is now 4-5. The Sea Serpents, now 27-76, have lost 4 straight.

Death Valley needed the clutch hitting of Daniel Plainview to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Scorpions on top, 10-6. For the game, Plainview had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"This was a good win for us," said Plainview. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
