Vandals, Walker Blast Raptors, 12-1
|
The Vancouver Vandals met little resistance from the Boise Raptors, beating them 12-1 at Hammond Park. Brooks Walker led the way. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for Vancouver. Clay Homes, credited with the save, is now 4 for 5 in save opportunities. The current losing streak for Boise has reached 7 games.
Vancouver relied on the hitting of McLovin Jr. to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Vandals on top, 4-1. For the game, McLovin Jr. had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I thought we played a nice game," McLovin Jr. told the Vancouver Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
