Rake Slammer was a major contributor to the 5-4 Lunar Base win over Indianapolis. The Space Rangers designated hitter was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Indiana Polis got the win, improving to 8-14. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 5. Man O'Rite finished to wrap up his 7th save.
Slammer contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Lunar Base in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Slammer took a fastball from Bubbles and stroked the home run to right-center. His 24th home run of the season allowed the Space Rangers to leap in front, 2-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Slammer said.
The third-place Space Rangers now have a win-loss record of 50-55.
