The inspired effort of New York second baseman Yeti Taz was not enough to prevent a loss, 9-5, to the Providence Crabs. Taz was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Crabs, at 43-63, have now won 7 straight.

Swanson Goose, who is a five-time All-Star, aided the Providence cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
