Scorpions 5-4 Winners Versus San Antonio
|
The Death Valley Scorpions besoiled an otherwise fine performance by San Antonio designated hitter Stetson Laramie by beating the Sloths, 5-4, at The Treehouse. Laramie went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2. Death Valley pitcher Always A. Bummus got the win, upping his record to 2-3. Johnny Tatum got the loss. The win brings the Scorpions to 7-12, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
Death Valley used the timely hitting of Y'shtola Rhul to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Scorpions on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Both teams played hard," said Death Valley manager .
