Death Valley Scorpions starter Billy TheKid was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the New Orleans Rougarous, 4-3. TheKid, now 15-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. The first-place Scorpions, at 71-37, now lead their division by 5½ games.

Chazz Lamborghini tagged a home run off Jose McForty-Three in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run blast put the Scorpions on top, 4-2. In all, Lamborghini had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
