The Surge grabbed a win, 3-2, at The Power House, overcoming a fine effort from Cancun pitcher J.C. Swishman. Swishman went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Buffalo reliever Frigg Delling picked up the win to move to 2-0. Pedro Martini suffered the loss. The Surge, now 14-6, have hit the ground running this season.

Hulk Savage was the walk-off hero for Buffalo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Surge second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"I still think this team can play even better," Savage told the Buffalo Times.
