Indianapolis Downed, 8-5, by Sloths
|
The umbrellas came out during the San Antonio-Indianapolis contest at The Brickyard.
Though he had a stellar game, Dee Fernandez Jr. could not prevent his team, the Indianapolis Apex, from losing, 8-5, to the San Antonio Sloths. Fernandez Jr. was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Carlos Krash closed the door for San Antonio, picking up his 7th save of the year.
San Antonio used a timely hit from Les Skoden to get the win. The third baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sloths ahead, 8-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Skoden, "one at-bat at a time."
The Apex are now 8-12.
