Scorpions Overcome Great Performance by Burgers in Win
|
Vancouver designated hitter Danny Burgers was sensational. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Death Valley beat the Vandals, 7-5. Death Valley reliever Xavier Pruitt was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Capsaicin Shrub took the loss. The save was credited to Guy Roussy, his 2nd.
Chauncey Ingram took Capsaicin Shrub deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Scorpions on top, 7-5. In all, Ingram had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Ingram told the Death Valley News.
The loss makes the Vandals 8-12.
