Raptors Turn Away Scorpions, 6-5
|
Boise third baseman Tommy Callahan made his presence felt in the 6-5 Raptors triumph over the Death Valley Scorpions. Callahan was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Boise reliever Chappy McChapperson picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Guy Roussy took the loss. Threes Twos recorded the save for Boise, his 1st of the season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Boise catcher Jeff Hopkins put his team on top. With two out and the bases loaded, he hit his 4th double of the year. Death Valley pitcher Guy Roussy served it up. Just like that, the Raptors were ahead, 6-5.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Hopkins.
The loss lowers the Death Valley record to 12-8.
