Scorpions Score Late, Top Sea Serpents, 4-2
|
The Death Valley Scorpions picked up a win at The Aquadome, knocking off the Seattle Sea Serpents, 4-2. On the mound for Death Valley was right-hander Xavier Pruitt, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win gives Death Valley a record of 1-1.
Death Valley took a 3-2 lead on Xicoyotl Montalbán's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Montalbán hit in the top of the ninth, left Seattle pitcher Jay Kirkpatrick shaking his head.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Montalbán said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
