Cancun third baseman Tiernan O'Malrain had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. O'Malrain went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, even as Death Valley beat the Toros, 6-4. Lanky Schramm snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 1.1 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. The win puts Death Valley at 2-0.

Melo Misteur hit a 2-run home run off Lizzie WOOOOHOOOO in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Scorpions ahead, 6-4. In addition to the homer, Misteur had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
