Voyagers Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The New York Voyagers picked up a win at Vaughn's House, knocking off the Death Valley Scorpions, 4-3. Starting pitcher Taylor Adkins played a key role in the triumph. Ransom Jones, who led the Legends in saves with 19 last year, was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Lanky Schramm. Big Rooster closed the door for New York, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Had Adam-Cole Bay-Bay not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Bay-Bay hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Voyagers.
Bay-Bay called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
The loss puts Death Valley at 11-10.
