Divisional Series Game 1 Goes to New York, Thanks to Scatoes
|
The New York Voyagers started the Divisional Series in style, downing the visiting Providence Crabs at Vaughn's House by a score of 5-3 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Voyagers designated hitter Moe Scatoes was 4-4 with a home run, 3 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3.
A key moment came with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Scatoes hit a screwball from Iceman for a run-scoring double, putting New York up, 3-1.
"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," New York manager told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Vaughn's House in Providence.
