Aviators, Crabs Play 10 to Settle Game 1, Outer Banks Now Leads Series 1-0
|
When the games really matter, the Outer Banks Aviators put on their best show, beating the Providence Crabs by a final score of 6-5. JD Pants went 3-3 with 3 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. Outer Banks now leads Providence 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.
Outer Banks used a timely hit from Patrick Eshenbaugh to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Aviators ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"The rain was definitely not preferable," Eshenbaugh said. "It worked out fine I guess, but we'll be happy if we see the sun next time."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Pot in Providence.
