Road Win Lifts Providence to 1-0 Lead in DS
The Providence Crabs started the Divisional Series in style, winning on the road against the Vancouver Vandals at The Thunderdome by a score of 5-4 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Crabs right-hander Joe Random threw 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs.

Providence used a well-timed hit by Hurri Quake to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Crabs ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Random said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Thunderdome in Providence.
