New York Breaks Through for First Win in Divisional Series; Now Trails 2-1
The New York Voyagers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading San Antonio Sloths, winning, 5-4, at The Treehouse. Voyagers catcher Brian Payne went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. The win cuts the deficit facing the Voyagers to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Divisional Series.

Had Payne not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Payne hit a run-scoring single. The Voyagers took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Payne. "You've got to get results."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Treehouse in Providence.
