Surge Hammered by von Caliente, Drop Game 3 to Vandals
|
The Vancouver Vandals have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Buffalo Surge, winning 5-3 at The Power House today. Vandals second baseman Enrique von Caliente went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Vandals to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Conference Finals.
Vancouver relied on the hitting of Ashton Lansdell to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Vandals on top, 5-0. For the game, Lansdell had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," von Caliente said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Power House in Providence.
