The Death Valley Scorpions did not need a superhuman effort from starter Guy Roussy, not with their offense scoring runs at will. They got one, regardless, as the right-hander shut out the Detroit Demons in the 8-0 Scorpions win. Roussy threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball as Death Valley took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

The Demons had little chance against Roussy, who overpowered Detroit hitters and struck out 11.

"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager .

The next game is set to be played for Monday, September 20th , 2077 at Cari Price Memorial Stadium in Providence.
