Beans, Vandals Take Dramatic Game 3 for 2-1 Series Lead
|
The Vancouver Vandals nearly wasted a strong game from starter Andy Beans, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 11th inning walk-off win over the New York Voyagers today.
Beans pitched well in the 3-2 win at The Thunderdome. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The win allowed Vancouver to seize a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 Conference Finals.
The decisive blow was delivered by Akshay Hrishikesh in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off four-time All-Star GOAT TANK to win the game for Vancouver. The home crowd went nuts.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said New York skipper .
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Thunderdome in Providence.
