Detroit Hands Death Valley 1-0 Loss
|
Hercules Mulligan pitched a gem to help the Detroit Demons escape with a tight, 1-0 victory over the Death Valley Scorpions in a low-scoring Divisional Series contest. The left-handed Mulligan threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball in the win, just enough for the Demons on a day when their offense dried up. Detroit now leads the best-of-5 series 2-0.
Mulligan allowed no runs over 8 innings. He also racked up 6 strikeouts.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Demons manager said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at Demon's Lair at Laser Park in Providence.
