The Detroit Demons powered past the hometown Death Valley Scorpions, 3-2, in the opener of the Divisional Series at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. Detroit starting pitcher Strider threw 5.2 innings allowing 1 run, to lead the charge. The Demons now lead the series 1-0.

Revan Shan, who finished 2nd in the Champions in triples with 6 in 2074, had a direct impact on the outcome. Shan contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put Detroit up, 3-1.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Strider.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cari Price Memorial Stadium in Providence.
