Apex Even With Demons After Extra-Innings Win
|
The Indianapolis Apex went the distance and then some at Demon's Lair at Laser Park to drag themselves back into a tie with the Detroit Demons.
It took 10 innings to settle Game 2 of the Divisional Series, but Indianapolis eventually took the 5-3 win behind the efforts of pitcher Biggus Tittious Smittious. Smittious threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball to aid the Indianapolis cause. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-5 series.
Indianapolis needed the clutch hitting of Moe Scatoes to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Apex on top, 5-3. For the game, Scatoes had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Scatoes.
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at The Brickyard in Providence.
