Louisville Breaks Through for First Win in First Round; Now Trails 2-1
The Louisville Lemurs have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Anchorage Wheelers, winning, 8-3, at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. Lemurs catcher Cal Covid was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI. The win cuts the deficit facing the Lemurs to 2-1 in the best-of-5 First Round.

A key moment came with no one out in the top of the third. That's when Covid hit a splitter from Smoki Zazaki for a 2-run single, putting Louisville up, 3-0.

"It was a solid team effort," said Covid after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo in Providence.
