Vandals Hammered by Dog, Drop Game 6 to Voyagers
|
The New York Voyagers and the Vancouver Vandals will take the Conference Finals to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Voyagers beat the Vandals, 9-8, at Vaughn's House to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. New York third baseman Summuh Dog was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice.
Brian Payne, who is a three-time All-Star, helped out the New York cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the catcher was 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Dog.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Vaughn's House in Providence.
