Detroit Tops Death Valley, 6-1, Claims 2-1 Series Lead
|
Death Valley had trouble with Detroit starter Hercules Mulligan, who frustrated Scorpions hitters, as the Demons cruised to victory, 6-1, in Game 3 of the Conference Finals. The Demons now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series, thanks in large part to the left-handed Mulligan, who controlled Death Valley throughout the contest and threw 7.2 innings allowing 1 run.
Mulligan, a native of Savannah, Georgia, was dealing all game. He kept Death Valley hitters off-balance, while giving the Demons 7.2 quality innings. Mulligan threw 107 pitches, allowing 7 hits and striking out 10.
"Solid performance from our side," said Demons manager .
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cari Price Memorial Stadium in Providence.
