Death Valley Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in CF
The Death Valley Scorpions got a strong performance from pitcher Femini Nomenon, who stymied the visiting Cancun Toros en route to a win, 5-2, in Game 3 of the Conference Finals. The Toros could never get a bead on the left-handed Nomenon, who threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The Scorpions now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Nomenon threw well for Death Valley, thwarting the Cancun offense. The left-hander tossed 111 pitches over 7.1 innings. He allowed just 2 runs on 3 hits.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Death Valley Scorpions (probably) 2075 World Series Champions'," Nomenon told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cari Price Memorial Stadium in Providence.
