Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Scorpions, 4-3
|
Pedro Martini pitched effectively, but the Cancun Toros still lost, 4-3, in extra innings to the Death Valley Scorpions at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. With the win, Death Valley took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Conference Finals. Martini pitched well, allowing 1 run over 6 innings.
Batting in the bottom of the tenth, six-time All-Star Daniel Plainview had a real shot to win the game. Cancun pitcher Roquefort Cotswald was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Plainview hit a run-scoring single. The Scorpions had a walk-off triumph.
"It feels good to get this one," Plainview told the Death Valley Gazette.
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 2nd , 2075 at Coliseo Toros, presentado por VINS in Providence.
