Flamingos Hammered by Dumper, Drop Game 6 to Firehawks
|
The California Firehawks and the Florida Flamingos will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Firehawks beat the Flamingos, 5-4, at Florida Man Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. California catcher Ivagotta Dumper went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Coleman Carver went 1 for 3 for California. With one out and the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, Carver had a clutch at-bat. Facing Florida hurler Hank [BOT], he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Firehawks a 5-4 lead.
"We're happy," Dumper told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Florida Man Park in Providence.
