World Series Game 1 Victory for Adkins and New York
|
The New York Voyagers powered past the visiting Cancun Toros, 3-1, in the opener of the World Series at Vaughn's House. New York starting pitcher Taylor Adkins threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 run, to lead the charge. The Voyagers now lead the series 1-0.
Henry Magik had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for New York. He came through with a run-scoring triple to put New York in front, 3-1.
"Taylor was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said New York manager .
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Vaughn's House in Providence.
