A strong performance from pitcher Chuck Nasty was not enough for the Vancouver Vandals, who were stopped by the visiting Seattle Sea Serpents, 6-5, in Game 3 of the World Series. The Sea Serpents never truly figured out the left-handed Nasty, who threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Still, the Sea Serpents now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Bookie Metts drew 1 walk for Seattle. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Metts had a clutch at-bat. Facing Vancouver hurler Alejandro Abasi, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Sea Serpents a 6-5 lead.

"It feels good to get this one," Metts told the Seattle Citizen.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Aquadome in Providence.
