Divisional Series Game 1 Victory for Joe and Boise
|
The Boise Raptors started the Divisional Series in style today, downing the visiting San Antonio Sloths at Hammond Park by a score of 8-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Raptors left-hander Sloppy Joe threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball.
Barry Allen dealt the Sloths a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Boise leading 1-0, Allen, who finished 4th in the Legends in stolen bases with 83 in 2061, hit a 1-1 slider for a 2-run single.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Joe, "and go after the next one."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hammond Park in Providence.
