Scorpions Win with Late Heroics
|
The Death Valley Scorpions knocked off the New Orleans Rougarous, 7-3, at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. Ted Giannoulas was a big reason Death Valley won. The first baseman went 5-7 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win went to Sam Nabring in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Maximillion Porter took the loss. With the win, Death Valley pushed its record to 15-9.
Death Valley got a knockout punch from Smalls. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the 14th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Enjoyed this one," Smalls told the Death Valley Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
