California Takes First Round in Deciding Game
The joy and relief on the faces of the California Firehawks players was obvious as they celebrated their First Round win over the Florida Flamingos.

"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said California left fielder Deion Sandals, shortly after the 4-3 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."

The team is now off to the Semi-FInals.

Sandals won series MVP honors on the strength of his .450 batting average during the series. He also had a .476 on-base percentage and 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Semi-FInals matchups and schedule will be announced after the First Round finishes.
