Cancun Tops Nashville Again, 6-3
|
The Cancun Toros got a strong performance from pitcher Usada Pekora, who stymied the visiting Nashville Stars en route to a win, 6-3, in Game 2 of the Conference Finals today. The Stars could never get a bead on the right-handed Pekora, who threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 runs. The Toros now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
A Starting Pitcher, the Cancun right fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 2-1, Toros. For the game, Pitcher was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
Pitcher attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Gibson Soundstage in Providence.
