Bears Rally Past Hepcats to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
The Brew City Bears started the World Series in dramatic fashion today, stealing Game 1 from the Kansas City Hepcats in a walk-off. Brew City won 3-1 behind a good day from starter Ryan Alvarez. The left-hander threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball in the win, which gave the Bears a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-7 series.

Lara Croft was the walk-off hero for Brew City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bears first baseman hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Alvarez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House in Providence.
