The Seattle Sea Serpents got a stellar effort from pitcher Talk O'Bell, helping Seattle score a win over the visiting Death Valley Scorpions, 3-1. In 7 innings, O'Bell surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Getting the save was Kip Treadwell, his 1st.

Bill Slamsquatch had a big 2-run home run for the Sea Serpents in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Seattle leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Always A. Bummus, who led the Champions in ERA with 2.48 in 2071, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sea Serpents ahead, 3-0.

"Talk made the big pitches when he needed to," said Seattle manager .
