Flamingo, Scorpions Wallop Apex in Game 3 of DS
The Death Valley Scorpions have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Indianapolis Apex, winning 6-2 at The Brickyard today. Scorpions shortstop Literal Flamingo was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Scorpions to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Divisional Series.

Death Valley used the timely hitting of Smalls to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Scorpions on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"This was a good win for us," said Smalls. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Brickyard in Providence.
