Almost There: Cancun On Cusp of World Series Triumph After 4-1 Win
|
With starter Center Fielder leading the charge, the Cancun Toros defeated the New York Voyagers, 4-1, in Game 4 of the World Series today. The left-hander threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball at El Coliseo de los Toros to help Cancun take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Victor Cortez had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and a runner on 2nd, the Cancun center fielder hit a 2-run home run. That put the Toros in front, 4-1.
"We're one game closer to our goal," Cancun manager said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at El Coliseo de los Toros in Providence.
