The Anchorage Wheelers faced a tough opponent in Brew City Bears pitcher Mejiro McQueen, but did just enough to pull out a win in Game 1 of the First Round, which they now lead 1-0. The Wheelers won 6-3 at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo, despite the Bears getting a strong start from left-hander McQueen, who went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs.

Austen Webb had a clutch at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for the Wheelers. Coming up with the bases loaded and Anchorage trailing 3-2, he hit a grand slam home run.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Webb. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo in Providence.
