Semi-FInals Game 1 Victory for Walk and Anchorage
|
The Anchorage Wheelers started the Semi-FInals in style today, downing the visiting Louisville Lemurs at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo by a score of 4-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Wheelers right-hander Bobby Walk threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball.
The Wheelers benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the sixth. With Jessica Comeau at bat and Anchorage leading 3-1, the Louisville miscue allowed Anchorage to plate 1 and take the lead, 4-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Louisville skipper , "and it cost us."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo in Providence.
