World Series Game 1 Victory for Cilliams Jr. and Florida
|
The World Series got off to a quiet start today, with the host Florida Flamingos taking a low-scoring 2-0 win over the California Firehawks. Florida right-hander Wade Cilliams Jr. was marvelous at Florida Man Park. The Flamingos now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Cilliams Jr. gave Florida a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 8.1 innings.
"Teams don't get here by being incompetent, so I really wasn't expecting this," Cilliams Jr. said. "I just kept throwing and they kept missing."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Florida Man Park in Providence.
