Firehawks Clip Flamingos 3-2 in WS Contest
|
The California Firehawks went the distance and then some at Florida Man Park today to drag themselves back into a tie with the Florida Flamingos.
It took 12 innings to settle Game 2 of the World Series, but California eventually took the 3-2 win despite the performance of Florida starting pitcher Sigandi Legend, who threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-7 series.
Zak Johnson III, the 20-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Johnson III contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the 12th inning to put California up, 3-2.
"It was terrific getting this win," Johnson III said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 7th , 2067 at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons in Providence.
