California Sweeps into the World Series
|
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Minor League PBE Semi-FInals. It turned out quite a bit different.
The California Firehawks swept aside the State College Swift Steeds to advance to the World Series, winning the final game by a 6-4 score at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons.
The series MVP was center fielder Oso Altuve, who hit .400 with a .438 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Semi-FInals finishes.
