Conference Finals Game 1 Victory for Bubbles and Indianapolis
|
Bubbles and the Indianapolis Apex opened the Conference Finals in brilliant fashion today, shutting out the visiting Cancun Toros at The Brickyard 4-0 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Bubbles, the Apex right-hander, threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball.
Bubbles, a native of Halifax, Canada, was dealing all game. He kept Cancun hitters off-balance, while giving the Apex 6.1 quality innings. Bubbles threw 102 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 10.
Bubbles said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Brickyard in Providence.
