Almost There: Indianapolis On Cusp of CF Triumph After 8-5 Win
With catcher Gabriel Katcher-Scudder leading the charge, the Indianapolis Apex got past the Cancun Toros, 8-5, in extra innings in Game 4 of the Conference Finals today. Katcher-Scudder went 3-5 with 2 home runs at El Coliseo de los Toros as Indianapolis managed to take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Indianapolis used the clutch hitting of Kurtis McKenzie to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Apex ahead, 8-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"It feels good to get this one," McKenzie told the Indianapolis Daily News.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at El Coliseo de los Toros in Providence.
