Nashville Win Knots Series at 3
|
The Nashville Stars and the New York Voyagers will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Stars beat the Voyagers 6-1 at Vaughn's House to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Nashville left-hander Toby Ziegler had a big role in the win. He threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball.
Nashville relied on the hitting of Ichiban Sokudo to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Stars on top, 2-0. For the game, Sokudo had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We're happy," Ziegler told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Vaughn's House in Providence.
