The home crowd had a good time watching the Outer Banks Aviators and Buffalo Surge get after it.

The Outer Banks Aviators could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Lanky Schramm into a win. Instead, the Buffalo Surge prevailed, 7-3. Schramm threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Paj Bobba earned the save for Buffalo, his 4th of the year.

With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Jazzy Thompson had a game-changing hit. The Surge designated hitter slammed a 2-run single off Zach Voss, making the score 5-2, Buffalo.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Buffalo manager .

Today's win puts Buffalo at 12-13, while Outer Banks falls to 9-16.
