Outer Banks right fielder Speedy McFly Jr. made his presence felt in the 11-1 Aviators triumph over the Providence Crabs. McFly Jr. went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Wombat Jones picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 3-1. With the victory, the Aviators upped their record to 16-9.
The Aviators got a big hit from second baseman Robert Oliver. Facing Providence pitcher Dr. Hubert Malbec in the bottom of the sixth, Oliver pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 4th home run of the season put the Aviators ahead, 11-1.
