The 2076 season did not get off to quite the start the Buffalo Surge had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Providence Crabs at The Power House. The final score was 8-5. Starting Pitcher Iceman was the top performer for Providence. The winner was Iceman. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was J.C. Swishman. Nathanael Abel earned the save, his 1st.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Migs Mayfeld? The Providence second baseman had a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Crabs on top, 4-0. For the game, Mayfeld had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
