The Death Valley Scorpions beat the New Orleans Rougarous, 9-7, at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. The win was due in part to right fielder Lawn Gnomes, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Death Valley has 3 straight wins, New Orleans 3 straight losses.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Xicoyotl Montalbán went deep for the Scorpions. With Death Valley trailing 3-2, he drilled a solo home run.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Gnomes told the Death Valley Today.
