The Nashville Stars needed 10 innings to defeat the Cancun Toros, 5-3, at Coliseo Toros, presentado por VINS. Nashville designated hitter Jimmy Arenado had a superb performance. He was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Zachary Vega III closed the door for Nashville, picking up his 3rd save of the year. Arenado had a game-changing double in the top of the tenth. On a 1-2 cutter from Samuel Smoltz, he banged a run-scoring double to right, giving the Stars a 4-3 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Arenado.
